Skylark
04:59
|
|||
i woke up, to the sound of the ocean
and the birds spoke of daylight only just breaking
in my mind their heart song was heard
singing tales gathered from the corners of the world
songs of legends and beasts could be heard
from the clouds a choir unfurled
and the skylarks calling you to rise
at the first light you’ll hear their cries
they sing songs of home
reminding us we’re not alone
the glowing embers in the mist
the taste of salt on your lips
embraced by nature, nature’s kiss
as we journeyed through the forests which shielded the earth
over snow covered mountains like pilgrims
we marvelled and honoured the world
we crossed rivers, as wide as the oceans they ran to
to a time before men walked the earth
to see creatures you’d never believe
and the skylarks calling you to rise
at the first light you’ll hear their cries
they sing songs of home
reminding us we’re not alone
the glowing embers in the mist
the taste of salt on your lips
embraced by nature, nature’s kiss
as we returned to the rolling green hillsides
home ground of England, we passed many lives
entwined with the cities, souls lost in the woods
hear the lark on a summers breeze
and remember to return to the trees

Wild Heart
04:04
|
|||
the wild heart within is for all to seek
so I’ll meet you at eagle peak
look within for the eryri modern child
hear the voice of the wild
for all the trees torn down in this tornado
lets plant those seeds of change to grow
for the earth has been crying from its throbbing core
hear natures call
so rise wild heart
with the power of the Dart
in a world carved by the hands of man
our world’s a castle of sand
we build and we build yet we still want more
so now I’ll have to take yours by waging war
with nothing to defy the dominance of man
the biggest hunter in the land
so rise wild heart
with the power of the Dart
in a world carved by the hands of man
our world’s a castle of sand
as the ice lands melt and the oceans grow
we all have seeds of change to sow
generation of predators drop your prey
or will history replay?
so rise wild heart
with the power of the Dart
in a world carved by the hands of man
our world’s a castle of sand

Five Regrets
05:20
|
|||
i stumbled upon wise words today
written by a living Florence nightingale
five wishes born out of regret
from people lying on their dying bed
the first regret was lack of courage
to live in honour of dreams so their truth could emerge
but instead their own choices had led
to only living as others expected
so i pondered to see what I could learn
inside me something changed as the tide began to turn
my heart became the ocean, my body a sail
adrift but where I’ll land only time will tell
the second wish came mostly from men
who’d wind back time to see their wife and children again
for they’d worked endlessly till the end
running a treadmill of existence
the third regret was not allowing release
of true feelings for the sake of trying to keep the peace
but they wish they’d dared to express
what caused suffering and bitterness
so I pondered to see what I could learn
inside me something changed as the tide began to turn
My heart became the ocean, my body a sail
adrift but where I’ll land only time will tell
the forth cry went out to their friends
for all the years that soared by but only at the end
did they notice the depth of the gift
of golden friendships too exquisite to miss
the final epiphany was realising there’s a choice
when it comes to being happy

Sunrise
04:21
|
|||
lights out and we’re sailing away
days done and the moon’s out to play
and all the city streets
a glow beneath our feet
behold the fleeting peace
as the world sleeps
so hear me now your eyes
are all I care about tonight
escape the rush of life
embrace our friend the night
until sunrise
night drive and we’re racing away
take me to the green fields to stay
where all the countryside
is graced with starlit skies
behold the endless peace
as the world sleeps
so hear me now your eyes
are all I care about tonight
escape the rush of life
embrace our friend the night
until sunrise

Red Sky At Night
04:07
|
|||
the red sky at night
and the crimson break of dawn
all come together in the end
your scarlet begonias continue to grow
while a table reveals an empty throne
where’d you go?
we built a mighty fortress
and sharpened all the swords
giants and dragons crowned the walls
summoned armies of angels
the watch dog guards the door
did the people hear the lions roar?
in the end
we’ll all be here
we bargained our lives
knelt in prayer for yours
no one was ready for the end
its in the gifts you gave us
found in every truth
honour the dreams of your youth
in the end
we’ll all be here
now a million stars hold you in their arms
this setting sun has made its last decent
the red sky at night
and the crimson break of dawn
release you, be free
go rise again
rise again

Butterfly
06:20
|
|||
in a twist of fate lying awake
she dreams of a place far away
heart longing to travel
he begs her to stay
she cries out to the heavens
“fly me away, away, away, away
to lands far beyond the sea
won’t you come a carry me?”
far from here cos she feels like
the butterfly in her window
watching the world roll by
so disappear like the butterfly
out of this window
born of the earth and sky
she was just a child on their wedding day
beautiful and wild with no time to play
now a shell of herself she plans her escape
if there’s a god in this world fly her away
away, away, away
to lands far beyond the sea
“won’t you come a carry me?”
far from here cos she feels like
the butterfly in her window
watching the world roll by
so disappear like the butterfly
out of this window
born of the earth and sky

Under The Sun
04:26
|
|||
under your wing we’re thriving, we’re thriving
under your wing springs arriving
every heart holds a box of treasured years
wide oceans appear as love rides waves of tears
under the sun,
now winter has gone
we’ll be under the sun
basking in your love
under the sun
under these wings we’re thriving we’re thriving
under these wings, dawn breaks the night within
though your voyage expands beyond our sight
somehow you provide a beacon of guiding light
under the sun
now winter has gone
we’ll be under the sun
basking in your love
under the sun
now winter has gone
we’ll be under the sun
basking in this love
under the sun

Breathe
04:54
|
|||
lay the cards out on the ground
hand this cloak in to lost and found
cos I’ve been wandering round and round
down moonlit roads but no one knows
just how this story goes
go find the kingdom with your crown
take a leap I won’t let you down
beyond these heartbeat breaking sounds
surely we’ll see wild flowers bloom at our feet
finally life will show what we should be
and I promise with this farewell kiss
that we’ll set our love free on the breeze
so we can breathe
so we can breathe
there is so much to explore
don’t you want to know if there’s more?
I’m wondering what’s behind that door
for surely we’ll
see wild flowers bloom at our feet
finally life will show what we should be
and I promise with this farewell kiss
that we’ll set our love free on the breeze
so we can breathe…
we can breathe

India
04:41
|
|||
as the season turns
and the fading light draws us home
with each stumble we learn
and the rising lunar tide moves us on
as the pictures come down off the walls
like yesterday I remember it all
so goodbye home town I’ll see you around
goodbye for now
hello India
beloved of mine peering through
the morning mist sunlight shines
casting shadows aside clearing space
that yearning hearts may collide
as the pictures come down off the walls
like yesterday I remember it all
so goodbye home town I’ll see you around
goodbye for now
hello India
finally I stand on this sacred land
that brought me home
Brought me home to the truth
brought me home to the heart
brought me home to you

The Next Life
06:09
|
|||
grace my palm with yours love
we’ll start this new life today
wrap me up in silk robes
adorned with golden rays
feed me fresh fruit fallen
from forbidden trees
tempt me with the sweetest
honey from the bees
I’d live this life by moonlight
with only stars to shine
to live this night a thousand times
to find you in the next life
love of mine
hold my palm in yours love
we’ll dance our blues away
slow down time
for I’d give anything to stay
surrounded by your light love
where all the stars align
blessed by love that’s worth a thousand lives
so find me in the next life
love of mine
I’ll see you in the next life
my love, find me again
